John Okamoto

John is a multi-talented senior executive with a track record of proven leadership, stimulating sustainable transformation in organizations leading to value added outcomes. He can quickly diagnose organizational cultures, systems, and capacity; develop strategies; and facilitate, lead, and manage policy and organizational change. He values the contributions and abilities of staff and works to develop their individual talents to create high performance teams.

 

John is a values driven leader, connects and builds relationships, and finds joy in helping teams perform like a jazz group – integrated as a group, yet individually creative.

 

He has served in senior leadership roles with the City of Seattle, Washington State Department of Transportation, Port of Seattle, and the Washington Education Association.  After serving on the Seattle City Council, John started a management consulting practice.

 

He is a life-long learner, with a graduate degree in public administration and has continued his learning at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and Northwest University’s Kellogg School of Business.
